There is an opportunity for suitable candidates to become volunteers at MUN and help out the local community as well as gain additional skills and experience.
As a volunteer it is expected of you to:
Your role as a volunteer will include assisting with the development of MUN's databases. This work is designed to assist MUN in keeping accurate, up to date, user-friendly information for our internal systems and use of our members.
All volunteers are allocated a named member of staff as their supervisor.
This individual can provide day-to-day help and guidance on any issue related to the voluntary work and is responsible for providing regular support to, and supervision of, the volunteer. Review of a volunteer placement takes place informally through weekly contact between volunteer and supervisor, and assessment of tasks undertaken and completed. During the three month trial period, formal reviews will take place on a monthly basis as necessary. After completion of the trial period a review will take place, at which point the frequency, duration, and format of future support and supervision will be agreed between the volunteer and his/her supervisor.
The Volunteer Agreement describes the arrangement between Merton Unity Network (MUN) and you.
We wish to assure you of our appreciation of your volunteering with us and will do the best we can to make your volunteer experience with us enjoyable and rewarding.
A volunteer agreement helps both the organisation and its volunteers by making expectations clear.
This agreement incorporates current thinking on what is good practice in managing volunteers. It also addresses the unlikely possibility of volunteers being considered employees in the eyes of the law.
