The ICT Mission and the overarching principles and priorities for the ICT and Drop in Service are to enable access to information and services.
It is intended that the Drop in resource will provide the following, in respect of ICT:
- Peer support activities with access to a range of resources including a library, research and information and ICT.
- Capacity building: empowering groups through training, to develop themselves, identify ICT requirement and respond to the needs of their organisations and beneficiaries.
- Marketing and Promotion: showcasing the services and contributions made by BME groups through use of appropriate media, e.g. printing, publishing.
The overall aims and objectives are that:
- We will provide Personal Computers for BME Groups to use on site. These will have all the up-to-date software including MS Office Suite.
- Groups will have access to fax and copying facilities.
- ICT training will be provided.
- BME research data will be made available for groups to review or develop organisational capacity.
- Other useful information will also be made available. Including, information which will signpost groups to other useful services.
- We will provide technical advice and support to groups where applicable.
